A healing Native Balm used for a variety of skin irritations
KAWAKAWA BALM is a magic potion of Native healing.
The shrub is called Macropiper-excelsum, or pepper tree, and grows easily on the fringe of our
native bush lands, with emerald green heart shaped leaves. It has always been very sacred
to Maori, and traditionally used through every aspect of there lives. The shrub is related to
the Kava plant from the Islands, and has natural anesthetic properties, which relieves irritated
rashes, burns, bites.. and speeds the healing.
Uses; insect bites, bee stings, dry lips, eczema, rashes, burns, bruises, swelling, cuts,
boils, arthritus, chilblains etc..
I collect the leaves from my own bush, and infuse them in Flax-seed oil for at least a month.
Then strained and set with our raw Beeswax, this product is hugely popular on my market stall,
and I am now pleased to finally offer it online.
Also included is a few leaves, a note on the uses of this balm, and the benefits if
using as a tonic, by making a tea with a small part of the leaf, slither of lemon rind
and a bit of Mahurangi honey of course!
